This is our tribute and memorial page to the wonderful dog that
brought us more joy and success than any one person could ask for.
Athena passed away peacefully in my arms on March 17, 2009 from a short
battle with Lymphosarcoma. There is not a day that goes by that she is
not in my thoughts. Everytime I hear the song below it reminds me of her. In GR CH Gator Country Athenas' short life she was owner/handled to
2004 CCAA Puppy of the Year, 2005 CCAA Bitch of the Year and obtained
her ICCF Grand Championship at the young age of 19 months. Not to
mention she was also an ARBA Champion and Rarities Supreme Grand
Champion. More than her conformation titles Athena was my best friend,
she will be forever in my heart and I miss her everday. Rest in peace
now my friend.
"The Dance" by Garth Brooks
Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared 'neath the
stars alone For a moment all the world was right How could I have
known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't
know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives
are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of
had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything For a
moment wasn't I a king But if I'd only known how the king would
fall Hey, who's to say you know I might have chanced it
all
And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end
the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I
could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the
dance
Yes, my life is better left to chance I could have
missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the
dance
